Mihai Tătăran, General Manager of Avaelgo, has been nominated and accepted as Microsoft Regional Director, allowing him to join an extraordinary worldwide team of great IT experts and businessmen.
With this nomination being a combination of both an award and an advisory role for an external businessperson in relation to Microsoft, and while it does bring excellent value to the table for anyone involved in the program, Mihai is still 100% focused on the incredible journey we are undertaking at Avaelgo.
The Microsoft Regional Directors program was established back in 1993, and consists of around 200 of the world’s top technology visionaries, chosen specifically for their proven cross-platform expertise, community leadership, and commitment to business results. You will typically find Regional Directors keynoting at top industry events, leading community groups and local initiatives, running technology-focused companies, or consulting on and implementing the latest breakthrough within a multinational corporation.
Mihai is also a Microsoft Azure MVP. So what is the difference between an RD and an MVP? While many of the Microsoft RDs also carry the MVP award title, most of them find it harder to maintain both credentials, as each program has different demands on the member’s time, which makes it difficult to qualify and maintain both. However, the key differences really come down to the business consultative nature, customer experience, and cross platform architect skills possessed by RDs versus the deep technical focus which qualifies an MVP.
The Regional Director Program provides Microsoft leaders with the customer insights and real-world voices it needs to continue empowering developers and IT professionals with the world’s most innovative and impactful tools, services, and solutions.
It is a great achievement for both Mihai and Avaelgo, for which we are really proud of. Congratulations, Mihai!
