About the seminar
During the 2-3 days of the course, we will cover the most important aspects of Hyper-V, starting with a short history and roadmap, and moving to the Networking (Virtual Networks, Extensible Switch, Network Teaming, Guest NLB), Storage (iSCSI, Virtual Fiber Channel, MPIO, ODX, Storage Spaces, SMB), High Availability Planning (Failover Clustering, Storage Spaces, Cluster Shared Volumes, Hyper-V & Storage Replica).
We then look at methods of automating routine tasks and deployments through PowerShell and DSC. We also discuss the integration with the System Center management suite (SCVMM, SCOM, SCCM, SCDPM, SCO), touching on the topic such as Fabric management (Host Provisioning, Network, Storage) as well as Cloud Management (Capacity and Capability, Delegation, Quotas). We also discuss update management of fabric servers, cluster rolling upgrades, cluster-level dynamic optimization and power optimization, application deployment and monitoring.
The second part of the course focuses on Azure hybrid integration and deployment, going through things such as IaaS (Virtual Machines, Storage), Virtual Networks, PaaS (Websites & Databases), Azure Active Directory, Automation, Backup and Disaster Recovery. We will also discuss Windows Azure Pack and Microsoft Azure Stack as potential options for Private/Hybrid Cloud deployments.
At the end of the course, you will receive the training materials, studies and whitepapers mentioned in during the course, which will help you get a good overview of how to plan, architect, deploy and manage a hybrid cloud deployment using Hyper-V and Azure, making full use of either System Center or Azure Stack in the process. Topics such as Security and Compliance will also be covered all throughout the course.
